Carmel Valley Gem & Mineral Society Show

​The Carmel Valley Gem and Mineral Society is a non-profit, educational organization dedicated to promoting the study of mineralogy and geology; to encourage the collecting of specimens and the practice of the lapidary arts; to promote field excursions to mineral locations and further the education of all.

CVGMS is a group of individuals with a common interest in the various aspects of the earth sciences and lapidary arts as applied to minerals and fossils and gems and jewelry. CVGMS was formed in 1954 as a California corporation meeting originally in Carmel Valley, California. Meetings were also held in Carmel and Monterey until a relationship was established with the Pacific Grove Museum of Natural history where the members currently meet monthly. Member meetings are open to the public..
