Monterey County Fair announces Uncle Kracker as Entertainment Headliner for 2024 Event

The artist will perform free with Fair admission Aug 29 at 7:30 pm on the Payton Stage.

MONTEREY, CA – August 13, 2024 – The Monterey County Fair & Event Center is excited to announce that multi-platinum selling artist Uncle Kracker will headline the 2024 Monterey County Fair, which will run from August 29 to September 2. This year’s fair theme, “Barn To Be Wild,” promises an array of exciting events and attractions, and Uncle Kracker’s performance will be a primary highlight.

Uncle Kracker will perform on Thursday, August 29, at 7:30 p.m. on the Payton Stage. His performance is included with Fair admission, offering an exceptional value for attendees. Known for his chart-topping hits such as “Follow Me,” “Smile,” and the Kenny Chesney duet “When The Sun Goes Down,” Uncle Kracker has captivated audiences with his distinctive sound and engaging presence.

A Detroit native and former member of Kid Rock’s band, Uncle Kracker has achieved remarkable success in his career. His cover of Dobie Gray’s
“Drift Away” set a Billboard record for a notable 28 weeks at #1 on the Adult Contemporary chart. His 2012 album, Midnight Special, showcased his embrace of country music, and his recent singles “Sweet 16” and “Reason To Drink” reflect his continued evolution as an artist, with his new album, Coffee & Beer, out now.

In addition to Uncle Kracker, the Fair features an additional lineup of free-with-admission entertainment on the Payton Stage, including Abba Fab, a tribute to ABBA, performing Friday at 7:30 p.m.; Ridin’ The Storm Out, a tribute to REO Speedwagon, on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.; and Chicano All Star Band on Sunday at 7:30 p.m.

Master Hypnotist Tina Marie will offer hypnotic performances throughout the fair, with shows Thursday through Monday at various times. SAM’Z School of Rock will showcase young talent on Monday at 2:00 p.m., followed by a performance by the Nzuri Soul Band at 7:00 p.m.
