MONTEREY, CA. –  March 14, 2024 – The Monterey County Fair & Event Center is proud to share its recent accolades acknowledged at the 2024 Western Fairs Association (WFA) Convention, earning recognition through a series of prestigious industry awards for its exemplary performance in fair operations and marketing.

The Western Fairs Association Achievement Awards serve as a platform to acknowledge excellence in the industry in a variety of facets, and emphasizes the importance of sharing innovative ideas and successful programs with industry peers.

The 2024 Western Fairs Association Convention was held on January 3-6 at the Anaheim Marriott in Anaheim, CA. The convention celebrated its 101st year, and welcomed over 120 fairs in North America as well as several entertainment, festival, and food & beverage organizations.

A testament to its commitment to excellence, the Monterey County Fair & Event Center was awarded fourteen first-place awards across numerous categories:

 

The Monterey County Fair was also recognized as a Merrill Award Finalist for its work with Montage Health to create an employee appreciation experience. The Merrill Award is awarded to fairs that demonstrate innovation and excellence within the industry, and was named after WFA Founder Louis Merrill.

Expressing gratitude for the recognition, Kelly Violini, Chief Executive Officer of the Monterey County Fair & Event Center, remarked, “We are thrilled to receive these awards, acknowledging our team’s hard work and dedication to the Monterey County Fair.
