Monterey County Fair Announces Official Theme, Poster Artist for 2022 Fair

Date

MONTEREY, CA. (February 2, 2022) — The Monterey County Fair has announced the theme for the 2022 Monterey County Fair: “Wool Meet Ewe at the Fair!”

The 2022 edition of the fair will be held Sept. 1-5, 2022, with the Livestock Show scheduled for the previous weekend, Aug. 24-28, both at the Monterey County Fair & Event Center, 2004 Fairground Road, in Monterey.

In addition to the theme, the poster artist has also been announced, Southern California illustrator and designer Scott Westmoreland.

Westmoreland received a degree in art from Cal State Fullerton in 1991. He then spent the first decade of his career as a designer and illustrator in the entertainment industry. Westmoreland served as an artist for original posters, programs, brochures and multi-use images for major theatrical productions nationwide, including tours and the Broadway stage. He served as a comprehensive artist for the motion picture industry and its advertisers, as well as a regular contractor for the Walt Disney Company and MCA Universal.

In 1996, Westmoreland was asked to become a full-time staff artist at Disney, where he created numerous marketing, merchandising and collector edition pieces, as well as countless conceptual and developmental campaigns for Michael Eisner.

Westmoreland rejoined the freelance world in 2001, where he has concentrated his efforts in the fine art arena. He signed with Sagebrush Fine Art, who publish open end paper editions of his paintings, and subsequently license the images on to many various products (currently over 50) including calendars, puzzles, wall murals, clocks, 3-D sculptures, coasters, wallpaper borders, clothing and much more. His surf, woody car, tropical and pinup girl series have made him a recognizable name on the national art scene.

A “top 100” seller on Art.com, he has been featured by television shows like Fox’s “Trading Spouses,” ABC Family’s “Knock First,” and in publications like “Decor” and “Total Art Licensing.” In addition, he has published a limited edition fine art (gicelee on canvas) series. These signed and numbered works depict the beautiful land/seascapes and flowers of the Hawaiian Islands.

Westmoreland still finds time to carry a full illustrator’s schedule, where his works grace the covers of magazines and advertisements, and the walls of homes in the form of fine art murals, paintings and family portraiture (including several celebrities). He and his wife, Karen live in Southern California with their two children, Cooper and Gracie.
