Monterey County Fair & Event Center to Host Pop-Up Drive-In Movie Nights Weekends Through the Summer, Starting June 26; Tickets on Sale June 23

MONTEREY, CA. (June 22, 2020) — The Monterey County Fair & Event Center will be hosting a Pop-Up Drive-In Movie Night every Friday and Saturday afternoon and evening from June 26 through Aug. 29, complete with drive-through classic county fair grub.

 

Tickets go on sale Tuesday, June 23, at https://tickets.montereycountyfair.com/tickets. Attendance is limited to 75 cars per performance, so buy tickets as soon as possible because it will sell out. Sponsorships and advertisement opportunities are also available.

 

The screenings in the Pattee Arena kick off at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, June 26, with the classic 1967 film “Monterey Pop,” directed by D.A. Pennebaker and featuring performances by The Who, Jimi Hendrix, Otis Redding and Janis Joplin. Ticket includes Monterey Pop Festival anniversary program. Cost is $50 per car.

 

Also being shown this weekend will be “Sonic the Hedgehog” starring Jim Carrey and James Marsden at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 27. Cost is $30 per car. And “Mamma Mia” with Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan and Amanda Seyfried, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 27. Cost is $30 per car.
