MONTEREY, CA. (August 2019) — The 83rd annual Monterey County Fair is coming up soon and needs your help! More than 200 local volunteers are needed for the 2019 Fair, set for August 29-September 2, 2019. Volunteers will receive free fair passes for donating their time and it is guaranteed to be lots of fair-filled fun.
“The Monterey County Fair is one of the biggest community events in the county and we depend on our dedicated volunteers in order to make the Fair a success for everyone,” said Kelly Violini, CEO of the Fair. “Volunteering is fun and fulfilling for everyone 16 and older and we encourage those who are interested to fill out their forms as soon as possible.”
The Monterey County Fair volunteer program is open to groups and individuals. All volunteers must be 16 years of age, but youth groups with adult(s) supervision will be considered. High school volunteers who meet age requirements can earn community service credits for their work.
The Fair welcomes all persons interested in becoming a part of the Fair through volunteering, and relies on its great volunteers to make the annual Fair a successful community event.
There are a wide variety of jobs available that require the help of volunteers to ensure success. All volunteers are ambassadors of the Fair and provide customer service to exhibitors and patrons.
The Monterey County Fair has many shifts available for three weeks surrounding the Fair. A shift is four (4) hours long and you will receive one general admission pass to the Fair for each shift that you volunteer. Volunteer duties include working with the exhibit entries, setting up buildings and monitoring exhibits set up during the Fair and taking them down afterwards.
A volunteer orientation session will take place at 6 p.m. Wednesday, August 14, in the Seaside Room at the Monterey County Fair & Event Center, 2004 Fairground Road, Monterey. For more information, email email@example.com or call (831) 372-5863.
