Fair on Sept. 3-6 is taking shape and tickets for admission, parking and carnival wristbands are now on sale for the 85th annual event.
The live music concert lineup has been finalized:
- Left of Center — 7:30 p.m. Friday, September 3, at the Payton Stage
- Journey Revisited — 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, at Payton Stage
- The Money Band — 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 5, at 7:30 at Payton Stage
- Samz School of Rock — 4:00 p.m. Monday, Sept. 6 at the Payton Stage
Some of the many grounds acts that will be performing at the fair includes The Magic of Frank Thurston; The Stilt Circus; Kevin K on the Island Pond Stage nightly from 5-9 p.m.; and the ever popular Racing Pigs and Pedal Tractors daily.
Performance times and locations vary for grounds entertainment, with more acts to be announced soon.
Tickets are on sale at https://tickets.montereycountyfair.com/p/tickets. The 2021 fair will be held at the Monterey County Fair & Event Center, 2004 Fairground Road. This year’s theme is “Fair Fun in 2021.”
Adult and senior tickets are $10; children 6-11 are $5; 5 and under are free. A special free day for seniors, military and veterans will be held on Thursday, Sept. 2 from noon to 6 p.m. Seniors must be 62 or better and military and veterans must have ID for themselves and their dependents to be admitted free. Parking is on the fairgrounds through Gate 8 for $20 or at the Monterey Pines Golf Course Driving Range for $15. Parking tickets must be purchased in advance.
“We are excited to have the Monterey County Fair back in 2021, with all the things people expect from the Fair — great food, lively entertainment, exciting concert acts, exhibits and a carnival with thrilling rides and games,” said Fair CEO Kelly Violini.
Violini said tickets must be purchased in advance, in an effort to be touchless. Tickets are available for pre-sale at https://tickets.montereycountyfair.com/p/tickets. The fair will operate according to all guidelines as presented by the California Department of Public Health. The annual Monterey County Fair Livestock Show will now be held the weekend prior to the fair, on Aug. 25-28, 2021.
