We are pleased to invite you to become a valued sponsor of the 74th Annual Monterey County Fair and we have some great sponsorship opportunities! This year, we anticipate increased community support as more people continue to take advantage of affordable local entertainment. We believe that our attendance will exceed over 70,000 local attendees in 2010!

“The Fair is in the Air!” is the special theme of the 2010 Monterey County Fair, highlighting the special sights, sounds, tastes and more at our outstanding event. This coming year, the Fair’s key art and poster features the charming artwork of renowned local artist and author, Jo Mora (1876-1947), with an image from his children’s book, Chippie de Munk: The Great Inventor, when Chippie invents a special flying machine. Elaborating on this theme, the Fair will celebrate the importance of innovation and literacy in our world today. Jo Mora’s artwork is enjoyed all over Monterey County and beyond, and there are more details on the website.

Thomas Friedman, the Pulitzer prize-winning journalist, wrote last year regarding America’s future, “We might be able to stimulate our way back to stability, but we can only invent our way back to prosperity.” And, throughout 2010, the Monterey County Fair will encourage the spirit of invention among us all. In addition to other activities, the Fair will sponsor a special Chippie de Munk’s Great Inventor’s contest for children, and will feature a Hall of Innovation during Fair week. There will also be two special Sponsor appreciation events, the Premiere Sponsor Party on August 31st and the VIP Sponsor Party on Friday night on September 3rd.

It’s time to sign up now with a special Fair sponsorship that will bring your organization enormous positive publicity within our community for months in advance of the Fair. Take advantage of visibility on our Fair website that attracts over 100,000 visitors, mentions on the digital marquee sign that thousands see each week, banners on the Fairgrounds, a mention in our new email newsletters that are sent to thousands in our region, tickets to our fabulous Premiere and VIP Sponsor Parties, and other great benefits based on your level of sponsorship. We have “named” our sponsorships this year after the colorful characters in the Chippie de Munk book, so just let us know which sponsorship is the best fit for your organization.

The 2010 Monterey County Fair runs from Wednesday, September 1st through Labor Day, Monday, September 6th, and will include children's programs, live entertainment, livestock competitions and auction, carnival, the Hall of Innovation educational exhibits and inventive displays in every Fair category. Appealing to everyone in our community, there will be a Labor Day Picnic, Childrens’ Day, Seniors’ Day, Military Day, and much, much more!

The Monterey County Fair is able to produce a successful annual community event with all of the help and support we receive from organizations like yours.
